Phone Features

Summary

This article provides an overview and instructions on basic phone features.

Solution

Voicemail

  1.     To setup your voicemail you will first dial *62 from your phone.
  2.     If prompted for your voicemail box number, enter your phone number starting with the area code.
  3.     Enter your password at the prompt then press the # key. By default the password is the last 5 digits of your phone number.
  4.     After 3 failed attempts your voicemail box will lock and you will need to contact technical support at 541-382-5551.

You will be prompted to create a new voicemail password. The new password must:

  •     Have at least 5 digits
  •     Not be repeated digits (example: 11111)
  •     Not be the last 5 digits of the phone number
  •     Not be consecutive digits (example: 12345)
  •     Not be the previous password in reverse

Once you have entered the new password:

  1.     Press the # key.
  2.     You will be prompted to enter the new password again and press the # key.
  3.     You will then be prompted for your name. This will be used as the default greeting if you do not record one. The system will play "Please leave a message for [your recorded name] after the tone".

After this step you will be presented with a list of options. Press 1 to enter voicemail. This is where you can listen to your voicemails and setup your greeting.

'There are two options for greetings, a no answer greeting and a busy greeting. The no answer greeting plays when the phone is not answered and the busy greeting plays when the line is busy. By default if you only setup the no answer greeting, it will be used for both.

After recording your greetings you are all set.

My Phone manager

My phone manager allows you access to change your phones features and modify advanced settings.

To login to My Phone Manager, follow these steps:

  1.     Click here to visit the My Phone Manager page. *This will open the My Phone Manager webpage in a new tab/window.
  2.     Enter your phone number in the Username field.
  3.     Enter the password provided to you for this account. If you do not have one, please contact BendBroadband Customer Support at 541-382-5551 for assistance obtaining your MyPhoneManager web portal password.
  4.     Once logged in, you will be prompted to change your password. Your new password must contain:
  •     Eight characters
  •     One numeric character
  •     One uppercase letter
  •     One lower case letter.

Once logged in you will see a list of all the features you currently subscribe to and the settings for each. Below some of the more common features are covered:

Call Forwarding

All Call Forwarding functions can be found under the Calling Features page found in the menu at the top.

Call Forwarding Always

Call forwarding always will allow you to forward all of your incoming calls to a different number such as your office or cell phone.

  1.     Select the radio button next to Call Forwarding Always to On
  2.     Enter a phone number (full 10 digits) in which you want to forward your calls
  3.     Click Apply and then OK

Call Forwarding Busy

Call forwarding busy allows you to forward all your incoming calls to another phone if your phone is currently busy.

  1.     Select the radio button next to Call Forwarding Busy to On
  2.     Enter a phone number (full 10 digits) in which you want to forward your calls
  3.     Click Apply and then OK

Call Forwarding No Answer -

Call forwarding No Answer allows you to forward all of your incoming calls to another number when you do not answer the phone. This differs from always by the phone ringing multiple times prior to the call being forwarded.

  1.     Select the radio button next to Call Forwarding No Answer to On
  2.     Enter a phone number (full 10 digits) in which you want to forward your calls
  3.     Select the number of rings before the calls are forwarded
  4.     Click Apply and then OK

Call Forwarding Not Reachable - Important!

Call forwarding not reachable can allow you to forward all incoming calls to another number when your equipment is not accessible by our Telephone System. This will ensure if there are any network issues or power failures that you will still receive your incoming calls. This will not forward any calls unless the device is unable to connect at your location.

  1.     Select the radio button next to Call Forwarding Not Reachable to On
  2.     Enter a phone number (full 10 digits) in which you want to forward your calls
  3.     Click Apply and then OK

Call Waiting

Call Waiting allows you to receive another call while you are on the phone.

  1.     To turn on, select the radio button next to Call Waiting to On

To Use: Call waiting is indicated by a double beep. To accept your second call, press the switch hook/ flash or talk button. Or, you can hang up the phone to end the current call and the incoming call will ring immediately.

Messaging (Voicemail)

Messaging can be found in the Calling Features page and gives the user full control & access to all voicemail functions including; number of rings, turning on or off, and more.

Turning the Voicemail On/Off

You can control whether you want the voicemail system to pick up the phone or not. This can be useful function when you want all your calls to go to an answering machine at the house. By default this is activated already for you.

  1.     Under the "Calling Features" tab, click on Edit next to Voice Email Management
  2.     Uncheck the following options to turn voicemail off:
  • Send All Calls to Voice Mail
  • Send Busy Calls to Voice Mail
  • Send Unanswered Calls to Voice Mail
  • Click "Save" at the bottom of the window.

For voicemail to be active the boxes under "Send busy calls to Voice Mail" and "Send Unanswered Calls to Voice Mail" must be checked.

Changing the number of rings

This function allows you to control the number of rings the caller will hear prior to getting to the individual’s voicemail.

  1.     Go to the Messaging section under Calling Features
  2.     To the right of Greetings, select the number of rings (2 -20) you want each caller to hear prior to going to voicemail.
  3.     Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Troubleshooting

Locked out of voicemail:

If you are receiving the message stating that your access to the voice portal has been disabled and to contact your system administrator, you will need to contact technical support at 541-382-5551 and request to have your voicemail reactivated.

Voicemail is not answering:

Make sure that voicemail is on and matches the section above. Under the messaging settings, ensure that the boxes under "Send busy calls to Voice Mail" and "Send Unanswered Calls to Voice Mail" are checked.

All calls are going to voicemail immediately:

Ensure that the "Send All Calls to Voice Mail" option is not checked under the messaging settings shown above.
