Delete cookies on your browser

Summary

This article provides steps for different browsers to delete cookies from the browser to help with Internet Browsing performance.

Select your browser below for steps to delete cookies.

Google Chrome

  1.     Click the Chrome menu Mobile Menu Iconon the browser toolbar.
  2.     Select Settings.
  3.     Click Show advanced settings at the bottom of the page.
  4.     In the "Privacy" section, click the Content settings button.
  5.     Click All cookies and site data to open the Cookies and Other Data dialog.
  •         To delete all cookies, click Remove all at the bottom of the dialog.
  •         To delete a specific cookie, select the site that issued the cookie, then the cookie, and click Remove.

    If you want Google Chrome to automatically delete cookies when you close all your browser windows, select the "Keep local data only until I quit my browser" checkbox in the Content Settings dialog. You can also make exceptions so that specific sites’ cookies are deleted whenever you close your browser.

Internet Explorer 9

  1.     Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button.
  2.     In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.
  3.     Click the Tools button Settings Icon, point to Safety, and then click Delete browsing history.
  4.     Select the Cookies check box, and then click Delete.

Internet Explorer 8

  1.     Click "Safety" on the Command bar
  2.     Select "Delete Browsing History"
  3.     Select the option for cookies and click Delete
  4.     Alternatively, Internet Explorer 8's new InPrivate browsing feature allows users to browse the internet without recording information from visited sites (including cookies). To use InPrivate mode:
  •         Click "Safety" on the Command bar
  •         Select "InPrivate Browsing"

Internet Explorer 7

  1.     Open Internet Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, and then clicking Internet Options.
  2.     Click the General tab, and then, under Browsing history, click Delete.
  3.     Under Cookies, click Delete cookies, and then click Yes to confirm that you want to delete them.
  4.     Click Close, and then click OK.
